Okay, I'm not so happy about the state of healthcare either, but what you are suggesting is raising EVERYONE elses taxes, and lowering the standards and 0ptions for healthcare for EVERYONE ELSE just so you can stay at home with the kids...

Your husband is already working two jobs to support your lifestyle. With the rising prices of everything from milk to gas you are suggesting that everyone else work two jobs as well. Nationalized healthcare would require astounding amounts of money which would mean higher taxes for everyone else. Doesn't mean much to you, because you don't get a paycheck right? Well it means a lot to me. Those taxes won't hit the rich because they can afford tax lawyers who know loopholes and all kinds of dirty tricks to make sure they won't pay. Those taxes will hit middle and low income families who are already having issues with deciding whether they should by food for lunch, or gas to get home from work. I don't make a lot of money, for the first time in my life I have healthcare, but I didn't get it by leaching of society, I got it by improving my skill set, networking and working hard. I don't expect anyone to pay my medical bills for me. You are using an experience with your uterus to justify lowering the standard of living for everyone else. If you can't afford healthcare for your children maybe you should have thought about that before you had them.

Secondly, do you know that with nationalized healthcare you don't get to choose the type of treatment you receive? Your treatment is decided for you. Do you think the government should be able to choose what kind of treatment you need? Why not, right? Government has done so well with decisions for the war, hurricane Katrina, presidential nominees, ect... yah, congress really seems to have its head on straight. Are those fat cats on capital hill (who have the best healthcare possible) the kind of people you want making decisions for your childs health?

Grow up! In this days economy EVERYONE has to work. You want better options, a better life, there are plenty of oportunities out there for you. All you have to do princess is get off your butt and work for them. I am not implying that the healthcare in this country doesn't need improvement, but perhaps you should do a little research on the subject before whining about how you can't afford to stay at home. I have little pity for your situation; your husband however, that's a person I feel sorry for.
