Sure, they can send huge rocket ships into space, but can they spell?
Doesn’t look like it…
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – NASA moved space shuttle Endeavour a step closer to liftoff without an essential part: the “u.”The spacecraft arrived at the its launch pad at the Kennedy Space Center on Wednesday, and officials welcomed it with a banner reading “Go Endeavor.”
The shuttle’s name, however, is spelled the British way, with a “u.” It’s named after the first ship commanded by 18th century British explorer James Cook.
The banner was up for about 90 minutes before being replaced by one with the correct spelling, but with photographers on hand for the arrival of the shuttle, cameras captured the mistake.
Endeavour’s launch is scheduled for Aug. 7.
On top of all her other misgivings, Britney Spears apparently can’t spell. Of course, we can’t expect someone like Britney to be a great speller if NASA can’t even get it right. Ms. Spears also seems to be having trouble with grammar and sentence structure.
“I apologize to the pap for a stunt that was done 4 months ago regarding an umbrella I was preparing my character for a roll in a movie where the husband never plays his part so they switch places accidentally. I take all my rolls very seriously and got a little carried away. Unfortunately I didn’t get the part.”
People have trouble spelling my name. It’s been happening for as long as I can remember. Even if I spell out, they don’t listen and spell it their way anyway. So now I say my name is “Hilary with one L.” My last name, however, has proven to be more difficult. I say “like in the Bible” and I get funny looks, same thing when I say “like the profession.” You’d think people had never heard of a Shepherd before. Here’s the deal…Shepherds were Sheep Herders—hence, SHEP HERD. Sorry to unload like that, but it’s really a pet peeve of mine. Anyway…
As difficult as my name apparently seems to be, at least my family knows how to spell it correctly. The same cannot be said for Lindsay Lohan’s dad, Michael.
“I look forward to order being restored to the chaos that our family life has become. “Lyndsay, Michael, Ali and Cody need stability and both of their parents in their lives. I am anxious to spend time with them and end this cruel, needless separation.”
