Lately I have been wondering, “What on earth is going through these girls’ minds?” When I say “these girls,” I am obviously referring to the four musketeers. The women who seem to constantly re-occur on the cover of every celebrity gossip magazine around. That’s right: Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and Nicole Richie; whom these days never seem to surprise us with their endless acts of stupidity!

I mean really, driving down the freeway on the WRONG side of the road while being stoned out of your mind? Or accusing your personal assistant of never mentioning, that driving under the influence with a suspended license is ILLEGAL. Their actions are not just dumb they’re just plain negligent.

Is there some secret badge handed out in Hollywood land, giving stars the okay to act like mindless idiots?

But then I wonder, does stardom really corrupt these girls? Or are we overlooking some deeper, underlying cause? Perhaps these girls lived troubled lives from the start and their actions would have taken place regardless of a life in the spotlight.

After all not one of these girls lived a normal childhood life. Normal in the sense of being filled with childhood activities such as school, sports, friends and a loving, nurturing family. No, these girls we pushed, pictured, neglected and turned into stars….

Part of me reaches out to these troubled girls who seem to have no values or good influences in their lives. Would you really trade your life filled with love and discipline from your family, for a night of booze, partying and money? I know I would not!

But can we blame all their acts of stupidity on their parents neglect? No. However, I feel our upbringing and the values we are taught early on have a lot to do with the type of people we turn out to be.

One can only hope that new mommy-to-be Richie, will teach her newborn the values she sloughed off, for partying. Or that Britney will have some sense knocked into her, so she can start acting like the parent we all know she can be.

But when it is all said and done, regardless of how dumb they look or act, they will always be loved in the eye of the public and media. Simply because they are rich, beautiful, and can do as they please.
