I had a long day today. Hours upon hours in front of a computer screen looking up tax records. I’m sure you’re wondering why, but trust me, you don’t care. Plus, it won’t make a bit of difference in your life if you knew why I’ve spent the last several weeks on this tedious project. Anyway, long story short, my brain is fried (and not in a good way).
But I suppose it could be worse. I suppose I could be a young woman in Hollywood. I could have tons of money and way too much free time.
I could be Anna Nicole Smith, and born in rags only to rise to riches and die in misery. I could be Lindsay Lohan, living in rehab and still coking it up, or Britney Spears, completely and totally unstable.
Money doesn’t shield you from emotional mayhem. Fame does not make you whole. If anything, they push you towards the edge of a cliff you never would have climbed had you not been rich and famous in the first place. Nothing of the material world makes you happy.
It sounds old and tired, but it’s true just the same – happiness comes from within. True and deep happiness comes from getting real with yourself and really looking into the depths of your soul and learning all you can.
And happiness certainly doesn’t come from sitting in front of a computer all day looking up tax records.
You think you are happy and you are happy; but that’s all you are happy for. – Words of Rhobby Wisdom
