Don’t know if you’ve heard, but Cheech and Chong are going on tour for the first time in 25 years. They’ve finally decided they’re too old to let their differences get the better of them so they’ve mended wounds and are moving on.

Cheech Marin told AP Radio that he and Tommy Chong “looked at each other going, ‘If we’re ever going to do something it has to be now because you’re not getting any younger and neither am I.’ … We’ve gotten to the age where we don’t feel like fighting anymore because the end is a lot closer than the beginning,” he said.

Hmmmm, I am seriously tempted to purchase a couple tickets; especially since they’ll be coming to Berkeley. It may be total crap (what if they’re not funny anymore), but just the experience of going would make it all worth it.

Aside from a joint appearance (sorry) at the Aspen Comedy Fest in 2005 and a plan for a new movie that went up in smoke (sorry again) after Chong’s bong bust in 2003, the two buds (d’oh!) haven’t been able to muster up a reunion plan for nearly 25 years, but now, Live Nation says it’s booked the pair on their own stand-up tour, dubbed, “Hey, What’s That Smell?” Popwatch

Stoners rule! No, really, they do! How many movies are there that revolve around fun with booze, compared to ones showcasing all the fun to be had with smoking pot? Think about it…

The timing certainly seems right for a comeback, said Josh Grossberg in E! Online.
