I have 2 small children I have had to do urine samples for. (not dogs) For small children you can these little bags that tape on depending on girl or boy. Boys go over the willy and tape girls go around and tape. One of these could work for your dog I think. You can get them from pathologist or doctors. good luck

Hi Steve,

The suggestions I received from Vet were to walk her like my boyfriend and I did last night, to use a ladle, to use Tupperware, or to tape a Dixie cup to the end of a meter stick. Seriously, those were the suggestions.

I tried on my lunch break today but I think she knows what I'm up to.

If nothing else, I have a great story to tell....how many people can say they've followed their dog around with a ladle?

Thank you for taking your dog to the vet. I sincerely hope that it’s nothing serious (or expensive) and that she outlives us both.

Being a cat person (I have eleven) I have no idea how to collect a urine specimen from a dog. But it seems that there must be an easier way than following her around with a little bottle. Did you ask your vet if they have any tips?

I enjoy your blog, and appreciate the time and effort it takes to keep one going. Again, thanks, and keep up the good work.
