Joaquin Phoenix Is A Quack And Felicia Barton Gets Her Idol Back

Joaquin Phoenix appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman last night. And by appeared I mean Joaquin Phoenix sat there being weird while Dave tried to get the actor to actually answer a question. Phoenix was at the Ed Sullivan Theater to promote his new movie “Two Lovers” but in his messy black suit and tie with a heavy beard and black sunglasses, he seemed more interested in acting like Andy Kaufman than a talented actor. Letterman, being the professional...  Read More »

2009 Grammy’s Round Up – Better Late Than Never.

Ok, so here it is. Finally! Since I had some things going on during the 2009 Grammy’s last Sunday night, I have turned to friends and others for their notes and opinions of the show. First up, notes from my wonderful friend I mentioned yesterday, in her own words….. U2 opened the show with an energy pumping performance. Whitney Houston came out to present R&B song of the year. She was looking as well as I remember her looking back in the late 80’s....  Read More »

Most recently they have confirmed that the victim was indeed Rihanna, and that according to police, she really took a beating….. Law enforcement sources have now gotten specific with us… police took pictures of Rihanna’s injuries and they are “horrific.” As we reported, the photos show major contusions on both sides of...  Read More »

A Case Of The Mondays Doesn’t Even Begin To Describe It.

I had every intention of doing a detailed Grammy’s post tonight, but I just don’t think it’s going to happen. Today was a Monday in every horrible sense of the word. I awoke with an anxiety attack, which tends to happen a lot on Mondays – probably because my alarm is a reminder of how much I don’t like going to work. Plus, my boss tends to be in the crankiest of cranky moods on Mondays and basically changes the rules depending on which way the wind...  Read More »

On this day in 1984…… U.S. Astronaut Bruce McCandless became the first human to fly in space untethered.. He unhooked a lifeline and used a gas-powered jet-pack called the Manned Maneuvering Unit to fly almost 300 feet away from the U.S. space shuttle Challenger, which was orbiting the Earth, and back again; it was the first of two space shuttle missions Astronaut McCandless made. It’s My Grandma’s Birthday And That’s More Important Than Hollywood Gossip. But Just Barely.

I’m in Berkeley today celebrating my Grandmother’s 90th Birthday. It totally blows my mind to think about everything she’s seen in the last 90 years. I mean, she was around before television, before computers, before the internet. Crazy! And now at 90 she’s learning all about Email. Oh, and she was one of the first people to drive a Hybrid in the East Bay; pretty darn cool, if you ask me. Anyway, that’s where I’ll be, so check out my friends for...  Read More »

Beatles All Those Years Ago – Happened In The 80s – Feb 6th

On this day in 1981….. The remaining three Beatles, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr reunited to record a tribute to John Lennon (who had been shot to death two months before). That meeting resulted in the song “All Those Years Ago” and was released on George Harrison’s label ‘Dark Horse.’ The song was #2 on the charts for three weeks. All Those Years Ago I’m shouting all about love While they treated you like a dog When you...  Read More »

Elisabeth Hasselbeck Is STILL A Whiny Whiner on ABC’s The View

So…..much to my disgust Elisabeth Hasselbeck is still on The View and, of course, she’s still whining. A few months back Elisabeth Hasselbeck was whining about not being able to “win” any of the discussions about the election. This time she’s comparing hunting wolves to aborting babies. Yes, seriously. The ladies of ABC’s The View were discussing Ashley Judd’s new Public Service Announcement in which she slams Sarah Palin for supporting...  Read More »

Before Manuel Noriega became a drug lord he actually had a pretty bright military future, even securing a position with the CIA. [Source] Manuel Antonio Noriega was...  Read More »

Jasmine Pilchard-Gosnell Engaged To Paul Walker. Maybe.

Rumor has it that Paul Walker of 2 Fast 2 Furious fame got engaged to his girlfriend of three years, Jasmine Pilchard-Gosnell over the holidays. Seems normal enough, right? Yeah well Jasmine Pilchard-Gosnell is 19-years-old, meaning she was just 16 when she and Paul Walker, 35, started dating. When the couple first met Paul Walker was 32 years old – that’s twice the age Jasmine Pilchard-Gosnell was at the time. It sounds a little icky to me, but to...  Read More »

Give me a baa-rake South Carolina! Investigating the picture of Michel Phelps smoking pot? Really? How many robbers and rapists are going free while you waste man hours on a silly picture? Sheriff Leon Lott said in a statement today (Tuesday), “The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is making an effort to determine if Mr. Phelps broke the law.” “If he [broke the law] … he will be charged in the same manner as anyone else. Bruce Springsteen Halftime Show – Super Bowl Halftime Show

It started with Bruce Springsteen telling us to step away from the guacamole and chips and to put down the chicken wings. Something I thought was quite fitting given the fact that Americans like to eat – a lot. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band kicked off the Super Bowl Halftime Show with “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out,” during which The Boss slid across the stage on his knees, and from what I could tell, hurt himself a little bit. And perhaps knocked...  Read More »

Super Bowl Commercials 2009 – Top SuperBowl Commercials

I’ve known for awhile that my taste in humor is a little off the norm. But it wasn’t until today that I started thinking my humor is a little too off. Not that I care, of course; I crack myself up and that’s all that really matters. Anyway…..my main point is that the SuperBowl commercials I enjoyed the most weren’t necessarily the favorite Super Bowl commercials of others. According to the USA Today Super Bowl Ad Meter (which is a fancy name for poll)...  Read More »

And the winner of Super Bowl XLIII is….. the Pittsburgh Steelers, beating the Arizona Cardinals 27 to 23. The game was actually pretty exciting. With 9:45 remaining in the first quarter, Pittsburgh made it to the scoreboard first with a field goal. Pittsburgh made the first touchdown and point after in the second quarter with 14:02 remaining. With 8:34 left in the second, Arizona scored a touchdown and got the point after. Then it got really fun to watch....  Read More »
