For what seems like forever, HostGator has been teasing us with the promise of HostGator VPS Hosting.

Well guess what…..it’s finally here!

VPS stands for Virtual Private Server.

A virtual private server is explained as “a method of partitioning a physical server computer into multiple servers such that each has the appearance and capabilities of running on its own dedicated machine.” Each VPS runs its own complete operating system, and each one can be rebooted independently.

Basically, virtual private servers close the gap between dedicated hosting services and shared ones – you’re on a shared hosting server, but are independent of others on the server when it comes to controlling and configuring your site.
