Is Walmart Open Or Closed On Christmas?

I was at Walmart the other day, and after I made my way through the chaos, I found an adorable red velvet winter holiday dress for my sister’s new baby – who will be approximately 6 weeks and 3 days old on Christmas morning.

I have it hanging in my living room and I can barely take my eyes off of it. It’s just so cute! I was hoping for something a little more Christmas-y, but it sorta looks like a Santa suit so I guess that’s good enough.

I also visited the Walmart toys for boys section and picked up a couple LeapFrog items for my 3-year-old nephew. I really wanted to get him the LeapFrog Learn & Grove Musical Table but my sister’s house is pretty small and now they have two kids; and I couldn’t justify pissing off my sister that much.

Then I went to the electronics department and checked out Walmart’s HDTV & DVD Player combos as well as the LCD HDTV home theater systems. I can’t afford at of it at the moment, but the big TVs are still fun to look at.

As I wandered the aisles, I started to I feel sorry for people who don’t celebrate Christmas. Not because they don’t celebrate the holiday, but because those of us who do, are probably really annoying; all jolly and full of love and the Christmas spirit (which I think is brandy, by the way).

For crying out loud, the inflatable Christmas decorations alone are enough to drive someone mad. Although I do have to admit I like Walmart advent calendars and Christmas snow globes.

Of course any stores open on Christmas Day will basically be deserted – leaving those who aren’t home opening presents plenty of shopping space and short lines.

And that got me wondering…is Walmart open or closed on Christmas?

They must be open, right? I mean, Walmart is in the business of making money; and how are you supposed to make money if you close on Christmas and lock out a huge sector of the population, and more importantly, their wallets?

And quite honestly, the thought of shopping at a Walmart open on Christmas Day – and not having to deal with the normal Walmart madness – is sounding like a better and better idea.

In fact, maybe I’ll just wait until Christmas morning to buy the presents for my family.

Of course Walmart is closed on Christmas day. Sure YOU could go shopping on Christmas day, but u get to go home to your family. What about Walmart employees? The problem with people is they only think about how nice it would be for them. People who work all Walmart put up with enough crap all year. They deserve Christmas off.
