Olivia Namath Arrested And Booked On Drug Charges

Olivia Namath, the 19-year-old daughter of quarterback great Joe Namath was arrested in Florida this past weekend for drug possession.

After police pulled Olivia Namath over around 1:00 a.m. they officer noticed the smell of marijuana coming form Olivia’s car. The officer then searched Olivia’s car and found a small bag of weed on the floor of the driver’s side. Upon further inspection the police officer found another 200 grams of marijuana in the trunk – along with an open bottle of rum and 11 bottles of Miller Light. Reportedly Olivia told the officer that she did not know there was marijuana in her trunk.

Sounds like a fun night – for someone over 21 and doesn’t decide to drive afterwards, that is.

Olivia Namath was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail around 4:00 a.m. where she was charged with possession of marijuana, intent to sell, as well as possession of alcohol by a person under 21 years of age. She was later released on $3,000 bond.

This is not the first time the Namath family has dealt with drugs and alcohol dependency issues. Olivia’s father Joe Namath has publicly battled his own demons, including admitting he had a problem with alcohol.

I don’t know much about Olivia Namath but I certainly wish her well; especially since she had a young daughter.

Did you know Joe Namath became a Grandfather in 2007? Neither did I! But apparently Olivia Namath had a child when she was 16 year old.

A source told the NY Daily News that Olivia was 15 when she became pregnant but that Joe was thrilled with the pregnancy. Namath’s ex, Tatiana, will raise the child, who is now 2 months old. Evidently Tatiana already picked up the baby and brought her to California, where she lives. Olivia will stay with Joe in Tequesta, as she’s still in high school.

They are also reporting that 19-year-old Edwin Baker is listed as the father on the birth certificate. There is an Edwin Baker, 19, of Jupiter, Florida (which is near Tequesta) that’s been arrested three times in the past year for possession of crystal meth, grand theft, and burglary.
