More bad news for Dr. Conrad Murray.
Alberto Alvarez, Michael Jackson’s logistics director – and the man who called 911 on June 25th as the King of Pop was dying – told authorities that MJ’s physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, stopped performing CPR on the singer, and waited to call paramedics because he was busy hiding drugs.
Alvarez claims that he rushed to Michael’s room and saw the pop star lying on his bed with an IV attached to his leg. He says MJ’s mouth and eyes were open, but that he appeared dead. He goes on to say that Dr. Conrad Murray worked frantically and at one point started performing mouth-to-mouth resuscitation while Alvarez performed CPR.
As the men were trying to save Michael Jackson, his two eldest children, Prince and Paris, came in the room and broke down in tears when they realized what was going on.
As Michael Jackson was being declared dead at the hospital, Dr. Murray allegedly insisted that he needed to go back to the house and get cream that MJ had “so the world wouldn’t find out about it.”
I’m guessing that has something to do with Michael Jackson’s skin, but it could’ve just been a cover.
These new allegations, obviously, can seriously hurt Dr. Murray’s defense in his involuntary manslaughter case.
Murray’s lawyer, Ed Chernoff, said his client was not trying to hide drugs. He also said Alvarez was interviewed twice and gave two different stories.
“He didn’t say any of those things, then two months later, all of a sudden, the doc is throwing bottles into the bag,” Chernoff said. “Alvarez’s statement is inconsistent with his previous statement. We will deal with that at trial.”
Two days after Jackson died and after hours of questioning by police, Murray directed them to a closet in Jackson’s bedroom. Police found propofol and other sedatives in a bag.
On the day Jackson died, Murray waited until the bags were filled before telling Alvarez to call 911, according to Alvarez’s statement.
