Co-founder and bass player of the 1970s group KC and the Sunshine Band, Richard R. Finch, was arrested in Ohio on Tuesday after an underage boy told the Licking County Sheriff’s Department last week that he’d had sexual contact with the singer at Finch’s home in Newark.
During questioning, Richard Finch, 56, admitted to authorities that he had in fact had sex with the boy who made the complaint, as well as other boys ranging in age form 13 to 17.
My stomach just churned as I wrote that.
The songs “Shake Your Booty” and “Keep It Comin’ Love” have a whole new meaning to me now. *verp*
Richard Finch is being held at the sheriff’s office on $250,000 bond.
According to Sgt. Kevin Biller, a date has not yet been set for Finch’s arraignment. Biller did not say what Finch could possibly be charged with, nor did he indicate what evidence they had that let to the seven-time Grammy winner.
People in Richard Finch’s circle were quick to dispute the accusations, posting a message on the Richard Finch Productions Inc. website saying the allegations are baseless.
“We will let due process happen through the legal system, and through that, we are sure Mr. Finch will be vindicated from these unfounded allegations.”
