In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Katherine Heigl – who confirmed just the other day that she is breaking her contract and leaving Grey’s Anatomy – admitted that it was inappropriate to put the blame on Grey’s Anatomy writers when she removed her name from the list of Emmy nominations.
“At the time I thought I was doing the right thing and I wanted to be clear that I wasn’t snubbing the Emmys.
“I was just afraid that if I said, ‘No comment’, it was going to come across like I couldn’t be bothered… I could have more gracefully said that without going into a private work matter. It was between me and the writers. I ambushed them, and it wasn’t very nice or fair.
“Everybody has bad days. I was a little defensive about my season (on the show) because I thought I hadn’t had a great one.”
Heigl contends that shortly after she opened her mouth and spewed forth crap, she apologized to Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes.
“I was just like, ‘Look, that was obnoxious. I apologize.’ She was like … ‘I get it.’”
Well I think it’s, like, too little too late Katherine. You were out of line and should have immediately apologized to everyone you insulted – especially the people who signed your checks. Like, you know?
