Remy Gonzalez Cake Boss Arrested On Sex Assault Charges

Uh oh, this isn’t going to be good for business.

Remy Gonzalez, who is married to Lisa Valastro, who just happens to be Buddy “Cake Boss” Valastro’s sister, has been arrested for the alleged sexual assault of a minor. He is currently being held on $300,000 bail.

Held at the Morris County Jail since August 18th, Gonzalez is facing several heavy charges including aggravated sexual assault, criminal sexual contact, endangering the welfare of a child, and sexual assault. Due to the alleged victim’s age, their identity has not been revealed.

The TLC Network, which airs Cake Boss is standing behind Remy Gonzalez.

“We support Buddy and the Valastro family during this very difficult and challenging time. The network respects the family’s wish for as much privacy as possible, and as this doesn’t involve us, we will not be commenting any further.”

I happened upon a Cake Boss marathon one day and ending up watching several upon several episodes. I am so in awe of people who can create such masterpieces. One of my good friends from childhood is a kick-ass cake maker – she’s even been on the Food Network’s Food Challenge a few times. Such cakes are like pieces of art and take an immense amount of talent and skill.

Buddy Valastro, owner of Carlo’s Bake Shop, is the boss of his mother, four sisters and three brothers-in-law including Gonzalez who is married to Valastro’s youngest sister Lisa.

Carlo’s Bake Shop is now a tourist attraction, and often has long lines out the door as you can see in the above picture. Cake Boss is quite a successful show with approximately 2.3 million viewers. It has been so successful that there is going to be a spin off – a competition series where the winner will win an apprenticeship at Carlo’s Bakery.
