Ok, so here it is. Finally! Since I had some things going on during the 2009 Grammy’s last Sunday night, I have turned to friends and others for their notes and opinions of the show. First up, notes from my wonderful friend I mentioned yesterday, in her own words….. U2 opened the show with an energy pumping performance. Whitney Houston came out to present R&B song of the year. She was looking as well as I remember her looking... 

Oh, and the wedding is off until further notice. Remy Ma was convicted last month of assault, illegal weapon possession and attempted coercion stemming from an incident last July during which the female rapper shot her friend Makeda Barnes-Joseph over a messily $3,000. The wedding between Remy Ma and fellow rapper Papoose, if you’re wondering, was supposed to happen this weekend but had to be called off because Papoose tried to smuggle... 

The Grammys opened with the much anticipated reunion of The Police. It totally rocked! They started with Roxanne, which Sting does not really perform anymore because he can no longer hit the high notes like they should be hit. For the Grammys, he changed the melody of the song a little bit to compensate for his changed voice. It sounded modern and updated, but not in a bad or cheesy way. Next came the Dixie Chicks, introduced by folk singer... 

The biggest winners of the night were The Dixie Chicks, taking home 5 Grammys, and Mary J. Blige with 3 wins. Complete List of Winners It was also a big night for Lifetime Achievement recognitions.
